Global Poker Index Publishes 2018 Rankings

Global Poker IndexThe respected ranking authority, the Global Poker Index, has released its ratings for the top players of 2018. Real-life partners Alex Foxen and Kristen Bicknell were crowned Male and Female Player of the Year, while Jake Schindler is Card Player of the Year.

Foxen’s Climb to the Top

Foxen performed well all through 2018, taking the ARIA High Roller and Asian Pacific Poker Tour Super High Roller in February and March respectively. He also won the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Opening in August, and the World Poker Tour Five Diamond World Poker Classic at the Bellagio in December.

Though he won most of his events, Foxen took home his greatest payout ($2,160,000) for finishing as runner-up in the Super High Roller Bowl V. This is also what clinched his Player of the Year title. Stephen Chidwick came third, and almost pinched the accolade for himself.

Bicknell Stays at the Top

This is the Canadian’s second year running as female Player of the Year. The partypoker ambassador earned $1,095,611 in 2018, a personal career high. She sat at 7 final tables, and had a single victory with the National High Roller event in Macau.

Other Global Poker Index Honours

Foxen also took the North American Player of the Year title, while Chidwick was the top player in Europe ad Michael Soyza took the same honour for Asia. The Latin American Player of the Year as Joao Simao, and Schindler beat Chidwick to the Card Player of the Year Award by a landslide.
